Marketing communication of secondary school

The thesis entitled Marketing Communication of Secondary School focuses on the influence of marketing communication of secondary vocational school on the decision of pupils to apply for studies at this school. The theoretical part is devoted to secondary education, its anchoring in the educational system of the Czech Republic and the factors that influence pupils when choosing a secondary school. It also describes the basic concepts of marketing, the specifics of marketing in education, the marketing mix of the school, the environment surrounding the school, and describes its SWOT analysis. It discusses the school's marketing communication and its tools. The empirical part is divided into two phases. The first phase is based on a pre- survey in the form of interviews with pupils to specify and clarify the questions for the questionnaire and a follow-up survey. In the second phase, based on quantitative research methodology, a questionnaire survey is conducted among current vocational high school pupils to find out their reasons for applying to vocational high school. The bachelor thesis deals with factors affecting the choice of a high school for Romani pupils. The theoretical part defines the Romani nationality, characteristics of the Romani culture and a Romani pupil. Furthermore it describes the choice of a high school and relevant defined terms as choice of occupation and choice of further educational carrier. The given problematics includes results of several surveys made in the past. Factors affecting the pupil while choosing a high school and a given field of study follow from these surveys. The main aim of the theoretical part is to show the factors, which affect the pupil of the primary school while choosing the high school and in which way. Methods used to draw up the theoretical part are: study of special literal sources, pedagogic journals, creation of excerpts and their analysis, comparison any synthesis. The main aim of the practical part is to map factors affecting on the Romani pupils of primary schools while choosing the further educational carrier and in which way. Semi-structured interview with five informants is a method applied to draw up the practical part. Purposive sampling on typical cases is used. Informants are pupils of the ninth class of the primary schools, which take part in the project Tutoring in the Museum of Romani Culture. Data from interviews are evaluated by means of the open coding.
Why Apprenticeship? The Choice of Secondary Vocational Schools among First Year Apprentices and their Attitudes towards the School and Education

(in English) This thesis deals with the choice of the Czech secondary vocational schools. Through a description of important theoretical approaches connected to the education and a study of the Czech educational system, the paper is getting to the analysis based on qualitative interviews analysed in compliance with the grounded theory approach. Through these interviews the process of choosing the secondary school and the relationship to the chosen school is described. In this part also the data from OECD PISA 2012 are used to provide an additional context. It is argued that the choice done by the apprentices is significantly limited and that the main source of such limits is social. These conclusions are connected with overall context of the Czech highly differentiated educational system. DECISION MAKING PROCESS OF STUDENTS'CHOICE OF APPRENTICESHIP AS A TYPE OF EDUCATIONAL PATHWAY

This bachelor thesis is focused on decision making process of students from working-class families' choice of apprenticeship as a type of educational pathway. The theory part outlines the main problems connected with the contemporary Czech apprenticeship, and then places the issue of choice of apprenticeship into the context of the reproduction of educational inequalities and introduces main theoretical approaches to the study of educational inequalities and their reproduction. On the basis of research based on qualitative method of understanding interviews then shows that apprenticeship are perceived by students from working-class families as an advantageous, compared to other educational pathways completely equivalent, and therefore in many ways rational choice. Students from working-class families consider the apprenticeships of secondary vocational schools as a mediator which would enable them to pursue a specifically defined profession, while their main advantage is seen in their practical focus.
The influence of family background on the choice of secondary school

This Bachelor Thesis follows up the effect of family background on secondary school choice for students. The theoretical part describes family and its relationships, education, adolescence and circumstances affecting the secondary school choice. Practical part is based on quantitative and qualitative elements. The first part analyses non-standardized questionnaire which is supplemented by interviews with two first grade students from the different kinds of secondary schools in the second part. The aim of the research was to analyse what kind of family factors influence students when choosing their secondary school.
